Welcome to phontron.com. This is the personal site of Graham Neubig, and is a place for me to collect things I've made, information about things I like, and pictures that I've taken. Take a look around if you're interested!
Research
I'm currently a graduate student at the Graduate School of Informatics at Kyoto University. I currently belong to the Media Archiving Laboratory run by Professor Tatsuya Kawahara.
I am interested in statistical models for speech recognition and language processing. For more information about my research, please visit my Research page.
Hobbies
I have a pretty wide variety of hobbies that I've occasionally written about.
- Translation: I worked as a Coordinator for International Relations under the JET Programme for a couple years, and one of my main duties was translation. I made a page about translation and learning Japanese or English.
- Sake: Again during my previous job, I made a page about Japanese Sake of the Nada District.
- Ultimate Frisbee: I love playing Ultimate, and have been pretty active in organizing tournaments since I moved to Japan. I made a page about Ultimate in the Kansai Area that contains information about upcoming tournaments, teams that are recruiting, etc.
